Interested in Fundraising at the Arena?

The Gas South Arena in Duluth allows teams to come in and work their concession stands for a percentage of sales. That means that parents (and kids 16 and older) have an opportunity to fundraise for their accounts year round!

How to sign up for a shift:

  1. Join the Arena chat on BoosterHub. If you need to be added please contact missystocks@gmail.com.
  2. Wait for a new monthly schedule to be posted to the Arena BoosterHub Chat.
  3. When a schedule is posted just respond with dates that you (and/or your family) would like to work.  These are just requests! They do not guarantee you will receive the shift!
  4. Once all requests have been made our desired schedule will be sent to our representative at the Gas South Arena.
  5. Gas South Arena will then respond with a set schedule of the shifts we were given. That schedule is then shared on BoosterHub Arena chat with confirmations of who will work and when.
  6. Then you just show up and have fun with other band families whether you are slinging hot dogs or pouring beers!

Here you will find a sample schedule of events that the Arena will provide. You'll see the show name and date across the top of the page. Under show name you will also find the event time (time the show begins), door time (what time they allow show guests in the building), report time (time YOU must arrive) and possible leave time (after your section has been cleaned, inventoried and shut down.). Below that information you will see a list. If the space is white and says "open" then you may request that corresponding stand that can be found on the far left of that row. If the space is colored and has a name then another organization has already requested and been granted that stand.

In order to form a team, dates/stand assignments you are interested in can be communicated via the BoosterHub chat. This is your best option if you are interested in working a date and do not have a full team. For example, if it is a hot dog stand that requires six volunteers just let everyone know you are available for that date and hopefully other band folks will join you. Once there are six firm yesses you (and the rest of your team) will be added to the tentative schedule. Teams must include at least one previously trained member! Requests will be honored in an attempt to allow as many people as possible to work shifts in the most fair fashion.

If you commit to working a stand you are expected to arrive on time, and be prepared to work a full shift. Any deviation from this expectation can get this opportunity pulled for the entire organization.

Next you can find current uniform requirements as provided by the Arena:

  • Volunteers must wear black pants. No leggings, spandex material, or sweatpants are allowed. Black shoes and white t-shirt.
  • No Crocs—Crocs makes a slip-resistant, closed-toe, and closed-heeled shoe. These are okay to wear, but no traditional style Crocs.
  • Hair longer than shoulder length must be pulled back.
  • The only acceptable hat that should be worn is the Proof of the Pudding's grey and white trucker. All hats must be worn properly. If a volunteer does not have a hat, they must wear a hair net.
  •  All volunteers must arrive to check-in with the appropriate attire before they can sign in and receive a shirt. All shirts must be worn before leaving the employee assembly area.
  • All volunteers working in a concession stand must wear an apron.
  • Lastly, all volunteers must practice personal hygiene and grooming.

Now for the money!

The Arena pays based on a percentage of sales your stand generates. You also can receive tips during your shift. 100% of all tips given to Lanier Band will be pooled and split evenly among all volunteers that specific day. The monies paid out from the Arena based on sales from your stand will be split 80% to the volunteers in your stand and 20% will be sent to the band's general fund for operating costs. That 80% is then split among the number of volunteers in your stand evenly. A volunteer will then have their child's BoosterHub account credited with their tip share of the day and their split of the 80%.

Please know, in advance, that commission checks from the Arena can often take up to 30 days to appear on your child's account. That being said, it really can be a wonderful way to get to know other families, build a sense of camaraderie and fund your child's band experience all at the same time!
